Attorney Tamarra A. Bowie, Esq. graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science (Criminal Justice) in 2013. Attorney Bowie earned her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi School of Law in 2018. Attorney Bowie is licensed to practice law in the state of Mississippi.
Purpose
The purpose of CALC is to advocate on behalf of inmates currently incarcerated in the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) and provide satisfactory legal assistance to inmates in efforts to reduce the prison population. Criminal Appeals Law Center of Mississippi, PLLC provides the following services: direct appeals, post-conviction relief, conditional relief, parole eligibility petitions, pardon petitions, parole hearings, ARP hearings, probation, rehabilitation assistance, and re-entry assistance.
Targeted Demographics
Inmates with lengthy prison sentences, lifers with the possibility of parole, drug offenders sentenced before 2014, nonviolent habitual offenders, and juvenile offenders. CALC does not discriminate against any inmates on the basis of race, ethnicity, color, nationality, gender, sex, sexual orientation, disability, etc.
